BALER AURORA

BALER! Yes, I've been to Baler! Of course, Every surfer in town knows Baler. Baler is one of the hottest spots of the surfers because of its huge waves. But Baler is not all about huge waves, seriously it has a lot to offer. Let me share you some of its tourist's spots that you might need to visit when you're in Baler.

Baler is just 5-6 hours away from Manila. Via public transpo, you can take Genesis Bus located in Edsa. They are the only Bus Company that has Direct Route to Baler. The fee is around 700 pesos for Joy Deluxe. If you are planning to drive on your own, take NLEX going to Cabanatuan City. From Cabanatuan, there are two routes to Baler, one is Bongabon road which is for adventurous person due to its zigzag roads and the other is Pantabangan road which is I believe is safer and of course the one I chose.

When you finally landed in Baler, the next thing you will look for is the Sabang Beach!

Well, of course you don't want to miss the fun (surfing) once your feet touch the soft sand of the Sabang Beach.

Once you're done with the fun, you might enjoy visiting the Mother Falls. It is just 20 mins away from the Sabang Beach. By the way, you need to bring an extra shorts and shirt when you plan to go there. Because you will definitely cannot resist to take a cold swim. :)

The next three (3) places where you can also spare some of your time are San Luis Obispo de Tolosa Church, Museo de Baler & the Late Pres. Manuel Quezon's house. They are just few meters away from each other.

And lastly, when going back home to Manila. You can also stop over at Balete Park, to see the Mystic Balete Tree of Baler. This is over 500 years old and one of the Pride of Baler.

I know right? Baler has a lot to offer and not just all about the huge waves. The last thing you have to do is to drive safely home. :)

San Juan LA UNION - Surfing Capital of the North

SUMMER! SUMMER! SUMMER! Since summer has already begun, all my posts for the next 2 months will be about the best Beaches in Town I've been to and where you might want to spend your summer. For Starters, let me share you San Juan La Union, also known as the Surfing Capital of the North.

Travelling to San Juan, La Union from Manila will only take you 5-6 hours via Bus or via Private Transpo. For those who would take Bus, there is Partas Transport buses depart hourly 24/7 from Cubao, Q.C. Manila to Laoag, a province of northern Luzon. Just tell the bus conductor that you want to be dropped off at Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union which will drop you right in front of the beach front resorts. The fare is around 380 pesos. As for those who love travelling via Private Transpo, I will share you the path I have driven to get there. From Quezon City Circle, take North then turn right before Mcdonald's (infront of Trinoma), then go straight ahead. From there you will see the NLEX toll gate, you have to pay 218 pesos. From the toll gate just drive straight ahead to SCTEX, which will take you 1 - 1 1/2 hour (never take any exit). From SCTEX toll gate, you have to pay 177 pesos, from there you just drive straight ahead again to TPLEX. It will take you 1 hour.

There are plenty of accommodation/resorts where you can spend the night. The room rate starts from 1,000 pesos/night. It is already an airconditioned room. I advise you to book earlier instead of last minute booking. If you wish to surf, the fee is just around 200pesos for 1 hour.

I wish everyone whose planning to travel to SAN JUAN LA UNION to have a safe trip and enjoy the SUMMER!  :)
